The Shady Grove Band began their recording career in 1985, when they recorded their first LP "Shine On Me." This first effort established the group as one of the finest up and coming groups on the bluegrass scene. The group went on to get a major label contract with Flying fish Records of Chicago, which put them in the company of label mates such as the great Doc Watson, John Hartford, Hot Rize, New Grass Revival and many others. Their first Flying Fish release "On The Line" marked their continuing success and enthusiasm for traditional bluegrass music, In September, 1991 Flying fish released the group's third recording "Mulberry Moon." More than half of The Shady Grove Band's repertoire is original material. The band released "Chapel Hillbilly Way" in November 1994 to rave reviews. Their current offering, "Back In Circulation", was released in May 2008 and has received glowing reviews and significant radio airplay.
