Jerry Brown lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Jerry Brown is credited with getting the whole thing started.  This founding member keeps The Shady Grove Band's show rolling with his rock solid guitar work, funny stage patter, and powerful vocals.  Having grown up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, he is no stranger to traditional music or artistic achievement, as he was raised at the Penland School of Crafts, where his father was director for many years.  Over the years, his love and interest in traditional southern music has brought in many of the great tunes that help create The Shady Grove Band's distinctive sound.
