Charles Pettee lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Charles Pettee began his professional music career almost 25 years ago as a founding member of the Shady Grove Band.  He continues today as the group's mandolist, singer, and songwriter.  Charles also offers school programs called "Hear the Sound" which share the history of southern string music with audiences of all ages.  His compositions are heard on radio and satellite broadcasts around the world.  He has performed over 3, 500 shows throughout the US, Canada, and Europe, over the course of his career so far.
